AMX Optimizes its AMX SchoolView Solution

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

AMX, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, announced an HDMI enhancement to its AMX SchoolView solution. The new feature will help educators meet challenges that arise when older analog-connected computers and AV devices are being replaced with newer technology with digital connectivity.

AMX SchoolView leverages existing school data networks to streamline bell schedules, bring networked precision to clocks, deliver audio paging and streaming video to an entire school, single room, or anywhere in between.

According to the company, the HDMI addition will enable schools to connect VGA- or HDMI-enabled devices. Using AMX SchoolView, administrators can use the existing analog AV devices while incorporating new, HDMI-enabled devices when required.

In a release Michael Peveler, vice president of education sales of AMX said, “In a landscape where education officials are being forced to deal with reconciling budgetary restraints with rapidly changing technologies, I’m thrilled that AMX SchoolView offers a future-proof solution.”

“AMX SchoolView lets educators move forward without pause into next-generation technology and improved learning environments in a manner that will deliver a significant ROI,” Peveler added.

AMX SchoolView will also enable administrators to maximize green savings. It helps save $3,000 per year in energy costs for every 200 PCs and $20,000 in projector lamp replacement costs for every 100 projectors. It is capable of automating management of energy-consuming resources like PCs and AV equipment, besides reducing costs and simplifying maintenance and support.

AMX SchoolView helps administrators distribute messaging and alerts to selected zones of the school in case of a campus emergency besides offering sustainability and teaching benefits.

“Currently schools are looking at sustainability from two points of view; definitely the ‘green’ perspective but also in terms of how to sustain current technologies,” said Jackie DeLuna, AMX director of education marketing said. “They need to future-proof their technology investments.”

AMX products are used in various applications like control and automation, system-wide switching and audio/video signal distribution, digital signage and technology management. They can be used in conference rooms, homes, classrooms, network operation/command centers and hotels, among other venues.

The company also recently announced the redesign of its Inspired XPert Digital Signage solution for large-scale, commercial applications.
