As a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless services, Cricket Communications launched a new portable, sleek and dual mode EVDO/WiFi (News - Alert) device from Huwei called CROSSWAVE. The CROSSWAVE product will be offered by Cricket from Oct. 15 at a MSRP of $14.99 and will be available at Cricket branded retail stores, select dealers as well as online.
The CROSSWAVE device can connect three devices simultaneously and shows support for WiFi 802.11 bpg, including Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7, as well as Mac OS X10.4.11 to 10.6.3 (both 32 and 64 bit). The Cricket CROSSWAVE device along with Cricket’s unlimited, all-inclusive prepaid broadband service plans offers flexible pricing options for various types of consumers. The portable device will leverage Cricket’s reliable 3G network to provide internet access to all users with the maximum download speed up to 14 Mbps.
The compact and innovative instant mobile hot spot device weighs less than three ounces measuring about four inches in height and less than a half-inch thick; providing high speed internet access to multiple laptops, desktops and other mobile devices like tablet, mp3 players, and gaming systems simultaneously. While plugged into a standard power outlet or USB port, the device has an active battery life of around 3 hours with around 90 hours of standby time.
