The global leader in WiFi (News - Alert), Boingo Wireless, announced that it’s expanding its presence in North America through a wireless-network-access agreement with MTS (News - Alert), one of Canada’s leading national communications solution providers.

Boingo customers will now be able to enjoy WiFi connectivity on their laptops, smartphones and other mobile devices at over 150 MTS hotspot locations, consisting of hotels, cafes and retail locations in the Winnipeg, Brandon and several other communities in Manitoba.
“It’s a huge vote of confidence that a global player like Boingo has selected MTS because of our WiFi presence in Manitoba and our overall reputation for quality throughout Canada. Boingo customers can count on us for reliable, high-speed WiFi connectivity,” said Kelvin Shepherd, president of MTS.
In addition to MTS’s more than 150 hotspot locations in Manitoba, Boingo users can access broadband-wireless connectivity at nearly 1,200 WiFi hotspots in Canada.
With a single account, Boingo users can logon to the Boingo Network locations that include the top airports around the world, major hotel chains, cafés and coffee shops, restaurants, and metropolitan hot zones. Boingo, and its Concourse Communications Group subsidiary, operate wired and wireless networks at 55 airports worldwide, including 29 of the top 100 North American airports, as well as the WSDOT Ferries Division WiFi network.
Boingo is also supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation with two initiatives designed to generate more than 1 million donated airline miles for the non-profit's wish-granting mission.
MTS Allstream (News - Alert), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services, has nearly two million total customer connections spanning business customers across Canada and residential consumers throughout the province of Manitoba. The company's extensive national broadband and fibre optic network spans almost 30,000 kilometres.
