Arrow Electronics (News - Alert), Inc., announced that it has signed a global distribution agreement with Redpine Signals, Inc., for distributing Redpine’s portfolio, consisting of wireless chipsets, modules and development kits.

Arrow will be responsible for distributing Redpine Signals’ (News - Alert) whole portfolio of low-power, high-performance chipsets and modules which offer flawless connectivity integration along with any microcontroller platform available in today’s market. A number of market segments which include industrial, consumer electronics, medical, mobile, PC, smart energy and others are all supported by Redpine’s technologies.

In a press release, Venkat Mattela, CEO of Redpine Signals, commented, “Arrow’s global reach, extensive engineering and support infrastructure, coupled with the explosive market growth of WiFi (News - Alert) and a differentiated total solution from Redpine, gives Arrow a winning edge. Redpine Signals, Inc.,  is headquartered out of San Jose, CA (News - Alert). Redpine Signals is a fabless semiconductor and wireless system solutions company which primarily focuses on offering ultra-low-power and high-performance products for the upcoming and new wireless applications. The company was established in the year 2001 and it was the first of its kind to release an ultra-low-power and low-cost single-stream 802.11n chipset in the later half of 2007.
