Webinar - A Step-by-Step Guide to Cloud Migration

Businesses and their applications are migrating to the cloud. And that includes unified communications.

Indeed, according to Synergy (News - Alert) Research Group, unified communications-as-a-service revenue in the first quarter of this year was 22 percent higher than during the same quarter in 2016. Meanwhile, the on-premises enterprise voice market is in decline. The research firm says on-prem spending was down 9 percent over the same period.

More companies are migrating from premises-based to cloud-based business communications solutions – or at least to UC solutions that leverage a combination of the two (what we call hybrid solutions). That’s because the cloud allows businesses to pay as they go and focus on their core competencies, as opposed to managing voice and unified communications gear.

Global Market Insights says the overall UC market is poised to reach $96 billion by 2023. And it notes the expected proliferation of hosted products in this category.

A different report indicates UC’s cloud market share will increase six fold by 2020, when it’s expected to reach 41 percent. And it suggests that cloud-based UC is poised to grow by more than seven times in the mid-market arena.

Meanwhile, more than 70 percent of respondents to a recent survey conducted by IntelliCom and TMCnet indicated they are now actively using public cloud-based UC services to some degree. And 26 percent said they are using them broadly across their organization.

During a webinar later this month, Stephen Leaden, president of IT consulting firm Leaden Associates, will explain what’s driving more businesses to adopt cloud solutions and how yours can too. Geoff Huang, vice president of product marketing with RingCentral (News - Alert), will also be a featured speaker.

“7 Steps to Migrate Your Enterprise Communications to the Cloud” will take place Thursday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern. For more details, and to register, click here.
