Webinar - Work Faster, Smarter with M2M
By Michelle Amodio, TMCnet Contributor
Machine-to-machine (M2M) is a term normally heard within IT departments. Typically, the practice is found within large organizations that can afford and want to maintain their own data networks. The technology is used in industries such as fleet management, vehicle telematics, smart grid and asset monitoring.
When it comes to handling assets, how can you make M2M smarter for more efficient fleet management?
Right now, M2M is next in line for its time in the technology spotlight, and we have the wireless industry to thank for it. The expansion of wireless networks around the world has made it far easier for M2M communication to flourish and has reduced the amount of power and time necessary for information to be communicated between machines.
There is no question M2M technology is quickly becoming a critical aspect of fleet management. Valuable fleet data like mileage, fuel consumption and driving speed are helping fleet managers improve productivity, save fuel and increase driver safety, not to mention providing additional benefits like insurance savings and preventative maintenance.
How can a business harness the benefits of M2M and use it for actionable intelligence when managing a fleet?
This will be the topic and one of many questions answered during an upcoming webinar entitled “Heavy Equipment Asset Management – Beyond Track and Trace.”
