Webinar - Where the Internet is Headed in China

Touted as the world’s most inhabited country with over 1.3 billion citizens, it’s no surprise that China had 485 million Internet users by June of last year.  And that number is growing, with the country predicted to touch 718 million by 2013, which makes up around 52.7 percent of the total population.

How do all these people access the Internet? Well, broadband connections mostly, with 363.81 million users currently leveraging this solution. However, wireless connections are being used more as time passes with 277 million users actively searching the Web on their phones.

To allow the Chinese people to better utilize the Internet, China Telecom first developed an oversea POP in Los Angeles back in 2000 and since then has been working to make the international internet bandwidth larger.

Recently, the company revealed that it will be sponsoring a webinar featuring Chi (Andy) Zhang to inform those in the IT industry about China and the global Internet market, as well as innovative China Access and Global Transit Internet product offered by CTA. Zhang is the lead of Product in China Telecom (News - Alert) Americas Corp., and is responsible for looking over the product organization of the company. Boasting over 15 years of professional experience in the telecom and IT industry, Zhang holds an international MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management (US) and Master of Computer Science from Tsinghua University (China).

Internet content providers, Internet service providers, content delivery network service providers, cloud computing service providers, enterprises and consumers alike that are seeking Internet access are all strongly encouraged to attend this not-to-miss event as it is jam packed with informative information on how to use the internet to see multiple business benefits.

Through hearing real life case studies about how ISPs/ICPs now rely on China Telecom’s global Internet infrastructure, the IPv6 technology space and what “e-surfing” really is, attendees will walk away with the knowledge needed to stand apart from competitors.
