Webinar - Dialogic and Digium Join for Video Conferencing, Asterisk Webinar

Video conferencing has become a commodity for enterprises, and as technology and IP network connectivity continue to advance, the demand for video conferencing is growing at a rapid rate. As enterprises move toward a mobile workforce, video conferencing is necessary for enterprise mobility to connect workers, regardless of their location.

As demand and interest in video conferencing grows, new approaches that leverage open source software and standard hardware platforms are breaking through these barriers. Video conferencing solutions can also take advantage of Asterisk (News - Alert) platforms for advanced, next-generation video capabilities.

Join Dialogic and Digium on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. ET/ 11 a.m. PT, for a webinar called Building Video Conferencing Solutions with Asterisk.

This webinar will start off by explaining what Asterisk is for those who might not be as familiar with the offering, and then dive into the video conferencing market. The discussion will also explore how to create a fully featured video conferencing solution controlled by Asterisk dialplan, video endpoint support for desktop- and PC-based clients and iPhone, Android (News - Alert) and iPad mobile video clients. In addition, presenters will also highlight multiparty displays and how to add high-definition audio to their video conference.

Anthony Martin, director of open source engineering at Dialogic, and Steve Sokol, marketing director for Asterisk at Digium, will be presenting the webinar with Erik Linask (News - Alert), group editorial director of TMCnet as the moderator.

A veteran of the telecommunications industry for over 20 years, Martin’s experience ranges from PBX (News - Alert) hardware and embedded software, to IVR, Call Center, Media Server and Unified Messaging software and systems.

Sokol possesses a widespread knowledge of the functions, capabilities and value of the Asterisk communications engine, and his experience with the open source platform dates back to 2003. In 2004, he co-founded AstriCon, the official Asterisk community conference and exhibition.
