Webinar - Cisco Internationalizes and Localizes Telepresence with Help of Sajan, Lingoport

Networking giant Cisco Systems (News - Alert) will be co-hosting a free webinar on Thursday to explain how its telepresence solution overcame the challenges of internationalization and localization with the help of global language services provider Sajan and Lingoport, a provider of software internationalization tools and consulting services.

Equipped with high-definition 1080p video and spatial audio systems, Cisco's telepresence solutions enable companies to conduct face-to-face meetings with partners and clients from across the world. Consequently, the technology encountered various internationalization and localization challenges.

The one-hour webinar will examine these hurdles and describe how the three technology companies worked together to overcome them and produce better engineering and linguistic results, according to a Lingoport release. The discussion will also detail how localization, testing and i18n development were integrated into Cisco's development and QA processes.

"Since its launch in 2006, Cisco TelePresence – an exciting telecommunications system that provides high-definition 1080p video, spatial audio – has been making a powerful impact on corporate meetings, communication and travel," Adam Asnes, founder and CEO of Lingoport, noted in a statement. "TelePresence is global in its very nature, and so we are proud to be a part of the team contributing to its adaptation for global markets."

The webinar will be co-hosted by Asnes and Gary Condon of Sajan. Richard Faubert, QA Manager for Cisco, will also join in on the presentation to discuss Cisco Telepresence (News - Alert) in a case study format.

The complimentary webinar is scheduled to kick off at noon EST on Thursday, May 19. The event should be of particular interest to those currently working in the fields of software development, internationalization and localization. This list includes software developers, localization engineers and managers, technical managers, internationalization engineers and managers, as well as product and project managers.
