Webinar - Bandwidth Demands for MSOs and Wireless Carriers Discussed in Upcoming Webinar

If there’s one thing that doesn’t show any sign of slowing down, it’s bandwidth demands for MSOs and wireless carriers. Demand continues to increase at phenomenal rates. This means monitoring the performance of the IP/Ethernet based backhaul infrastructure has become paramount to maintain the levels of service your customers demand.

An upcoming Webinar deals with just this issue. Titled “Why Performance Management is Critical for Success in Delivering Ethernet Backhaul Services,” it deals with the fact that with the explosion of new technologies, the number of possible backhaul failure points and bottlenecks demands new levels of scalability and end-to-end visibility.

Therefore it’s designed to help attendees learn best practices from Comcast (News - Alert) and SevOne on how “scalable, comprehensive performance management can allow you to effectively manage network capacity while reducing backhaul expenditure,” according to Webinar organizers.

Among other issues, it deals with the impact of increased bandwidth demands on communications providers, the importance of proactive network performance management to ensure the infrastructure meets current and future demands and key attributes to look for when selecting a network performance management tool to address Ethernet Backhaul management challenges.

Presenting will be Ziaur Rahman, Chief Program Architect for Comcast Cable. With over 25+ years of experience with Telecommunication Management Systems, he was a Speaker at the Management World Americas 2007, TMF Webinar, TeleStrategy Conference 2006 and the Chair and Speaker, IQPC (News - Alert) NextGen BSS/OSS Conference.

Also presenting is Pete Cruz, Senior Director, Product Management and Marketing for Comcast. He’s responsible for leading product management and marketing, and has over 19 years of extensive experience in network, server, and application management, including performance, fault, configuration, and service level management.

Moderating the discussion is Carl Ford (News - Alert), Community Developer 4GWE for Crossfire Media and Co-Founder of Crossfire Media. He’s focused on the impact of communications technology on consumers and industry, and has been highlighting the key initiatives around the advances of the Commercial Internet since the beginning.
