Webinar - Webinar: Make VoIP More Secure, Efficient for Enterprises and Service Providers

Good news if you’ve wondered how you can make VoIP more secure and efficient in your enterprise or service provider network. There’ll be a free webinar titled “Making VoIP Secure, Efficient and Seamless Across Enterprise and Service Provider Networks,” which should hit the sweet spot, presented Tuesday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m. on the East Coast, 8:00 a.m. out on the West Coast and at 4:00 p.m. in London.

“Today’s Voice over IP networks are gradually superseding circuit-switched networks in meeting the communication needs of enterprises and service providers,” said webinar organizers, noting that “a wide range of hybrid networks is emerging that require interoperability of IP-based and circuit-switched network components.”

Presenter James Rafferty (News - Alert), product line director for Integrated Media Gateways at Dialogic, responsible for VoIP Gateway products sold to carriers and related market strategies, will give Webinar attendees an overview of the changing network edge, showing how “media gateways are evolving and incorporating session border control functions.”

As webinar officials explain, a new generation of SBCs and border elements integrating signaling, transcoding and security functions “can be used to reduce cost, introduce network flexibility and enable new communication capabilities for voice and other media.”

There will be case studies as well, showing how all this works in reality: “The webinar will then examine key use cases for Dialogic’s (News - Alert) BorderNet product family and how they can support any-to-any network connectivity and address emerging security requirements.”

Rafferty is active in the standards process through his work with the Internet Engineering Task Force and the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), according to his biographical information, which says he was instrumental in the development of the T.37 and T.38 IP fax standards and the Megaco/H.248 standards.
