Steve Cary
Vice-President, Feeney Wireless

Feeney Wireless offers end-to-end connected vehicle solutions designed to meet specific needs of mobile workers in a wide variety of situations including Connected Emergency Vehicles, Connected Field Services/Utility Vehicles, and Connected Mass Transit.

Steve Cary is the Vice President of Feeney Wireless, with responsibility for developing and executing the firm’s strategic marketing efforts. Steve leads all marketing and communications activities, including: branding, collateral development, messaging and outbound communications. Steve is responsible for product development initiatives across the organization and for their positioning in the marketplace.

Prior to joining Feeney Wireless in 2009, Steve was Director of Business Development for RE2 Inc., a specialty robotics firm serving the Department of Defense (DoD) and the rapidly emerging field of unmanned ground robotics. Steve was responsible for identifying business opportunities and developing market research strategies within the company’s DoD customers, including the Army, Navy and Air Force.

During the first bubble, Kapustka was an online columnist for the original Red Herring (where he had the first-ever interview with Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau, and once told Eric Schmidt to get a new job) before moving on to become an editor-at-large for optical networking news site Light Reading.

Steve has over 10 years experience in the IT industry and has extensive experience in product development, consulting and systems integration. Prior to joining RE2, Steve served as a consultant for a successful software startup, Landslide, Inc., guiding their product development strategy. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Communications from the University of Washington.


Joyce Tam
Director of Product Marketing, Trimble

Joyce Tam joined Trimble Navigation in 2003 and is currently the Director of Product Marketing in the Trimble Fleet Solutions Group. Prior to Trimble, Joyce held critical product development and product management positions at Lucent Technologies, Netopia, and Praxon. Joyce has extensive experience in product management positions with start-up and fast-growth companies on an international scale. Joyce is currently responsible for product strategy and roadmap for the Trimble Fleet Solutions Group.


Alex Popov
SVP of Strategic Alliances and Partnerships, Vnomics

Alex Popov is the SVP of Strategic Alliances and Partnerships with Vnomics. With more than 25 years of experience in the Transportation industry, Mr. Popov is widely known as a leader who drives continuous improvement through process design, enhancement and optimization of technology. Throughout his career, he has transformed four of the largest fleets in their respective industries into models of state-of-the art excellence and efficiency. By utilizing best-in-class technology he has helped to dramatically improve key processes at major companies including: United Parcel Service, Ryder Transportation Systems, Waste Management and PHH.

Popov has his MBA in Finance from Tulane University in New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He also maintains the distinction of a Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) through the National Private Truck Council

Senior Product Marketing Manager, Xora

Tom Wiese
Strategic Opportunity Manager, Emerging Solutions, Sprint

Tom Wiese is the Strategic Opportunity Manager focusing on connected transportation for Sprint’s Emerging Solutions Group. Wiese has extensive expertise developing successful strategies in the constantly evolving work of machine-to-machine (M2M) applications with a focus on smart fleet, asset monitoring/management concentrations. In his role as Strategic Opportunity Manager, Tom works with sales and engineering teams to round out Sprint’s offering in the fleet and transportation market, including new partner acquisition, positioning of Sprint in ecosystem, and solution creation for this space. In addition, Wiese serves on the Joint Council on Transit Wireless Communications.

Prior to joining the ESG organization, Tom was the Channel Manager for the Telemetry Solution Provider division for Sprint’s Indirect Channel. Tom Wiese has a BS in Business and Mass Communications from Baker University.
