FREE WEBINAR:
Credit Card Security Rules: Do Your Enterprise’s Communications Systems Threaten Compliance?
Tuesday,
June 30, 2009, 11:00am ET
/ 8:00am PT
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a multifaceted security standard that applies to organizations that store, manage, or process credit card information. Banks, merchants and many others in the payment processing chain follow the PCI DSS to proactively guard customer account data, protect their valued customers, and prevent identity theft and payment card fraud.
At the same time, businesses face continuing pressure to reduce costs, and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology has emerged as an opportunity for significant cost savings over traditional PSTN networks. This new infrastructure also becomes a vehicle for Unified Communications (UC), which involves multiple modes of communication including voice, video, instant messaging, presence applications and similar innovations.
Credit card data can traverse any of multiple channels of communication in this new world. But as recent security breaches have shown, companies that want to achieve PCI compliance should carefully weigh a host of VoIP and UC security considerations including encryption, resource access control, security policy enforcement, traffic monitoring and threat mitigation.
What does this new world of UC mean for PCI compliance? What common vulnerabilities and risks should be considered as you plan a transformation to VoIP and UC? What are the emerging best practices around UC security life cycle planning, and how does the PCI DSS factor into your UC security architecture?
What Attendees will learn:
- How PCI DSS requirements relate to VoIP and UC technologies and infrastructure
- UC security planning “Best Practices” for adopting an effective security architecture
- How to assess your security posture and identify gaps and risks
Who should attend:
- IT managers involved in VoIP and Unified Communications planning and deployment
