IP Media Servers and IMS:
Key Enablers for Voicemail and Unified Messaging
Most of today's workforce has multiple messaging services that they constantly
need to check, including office voicemail, mobile voicemail, and work email.
Unified Messaging (UM) improves user efficiency and convenience through
a
single mailbox, accessible from any device, and provides tools to help users
manage all their messages.
To meet users' demands -- and because many legacy voicemail systems are
approaching end of life -- service providers worldwide are now investing heavily
in updated messaging and UM systems. And with the general industry
consensus that the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) will be the model
architecture for
networks and services going forward, they are insisting that
all solutions they source be on the path to IMS.
A key part of IMS-based voicemail and UM systems is the component
responsible for audio and video media processing: the IP media server, also
known in IMS as the Multimedia Resource Function Processor (MRFP). IP
media servers are already integral to the successful deployment of many
long-standing VoIP and IMS-ready services, including conferencing applications,
prepaid services, contact centers,
and hosted offerings, and are now set to see
widespread use in the upcoming wave of IMS-based voicemail and UM deployments.
Register for the April 19th webinar to learn how media servers can accelerate
time to market and lower overall development costs for IMS- based voicemail,
videomail, visual messaging, and unified messaging solutions, while reducing
network CapEx and OpEx.
Whether you are a service provider, a solution or application vendor, or even a
large enterprise, this event will show you how the use of IP media servers is a
better way to develop, deploy, and scale messaging solutions.
