Much is being made of the opportunities presented by Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and its impact on the telecommunications industry. Many people have already migrated but many more have concerns that need to be addressed. There are many costs involved in a VoIP migration and these have to be addressed. Ian Gomm has been involved in the telecom industry for more than 20 years. Having started out in a Centrex environment, he has been involved with telecoms in various ways as the industry has gone through numerous iterations over that time period. Ian was appointed VP, Operations of Citel. The VoIP Migration Company in late May 2008 following the acquisition of the business, helping guide the company through its transitional phase. Having dealt with the company’s Channel Partners and then spearheaded the updated marketing plan for the Portico™ TVA™, Citel’s VoIP migration device, Ian was appointed VP, Sales and Marketing early in 2010.

Andrew Davies has been in the communications industry since the 1980s, having worked in the development and introduction of new products with a number of telecoms startups, then joining Ericsson for ten years following an acquisition. Andrew joined Citel in 2002 and has seen the company’s flagship Portico™ TVA™ range through from concept, into early trials and now to maturity. TVA was introduced first into the North American markets, but Andrew is now working with partners in Europe to help them accelerate the migration to VoIP.
