Lifetime TV Special Showcases Remote Work Technology

By Luke Bellos January 05, 2021

While much of the world is under restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, there is a growing sense of confidence that society is heading toward normalcy. The past year has kept most of the population inside, and remote working has exploded for much of the workforce. These new circumstances have made employers and employees alike reconsider the modern workspace as we know it. Even after the pandemic ends, remote work will likely remain a necessary, and possibly advantageous, way of working.

That is why Lifetime TV has announced a new “Work from Home” special, which will focus on integrating cloud and mobile technologies developed by NetFortris and Poly (News - Alert) Solutions.

Netfortris, a cloud-based solutions company, plans to showcase Comm-unity, a proprietary cloud communications solution, which includes the myHUD Desktop and myHUD Mobile applications that make it possible to call, chat, video and audio conference and hold web meetings with staff and customers in virtually any location. Using geo-redundant data centers, it allows always-on connections for any internet-enabled device.

Poly Solutions, which specializes in global communications, will be exhibiting the Poly Voyager 5200 UC Headset, which features WindSmart technology and an adaptive noise canceling microphone. The headset also has USB/Bluetooth capabilities, and is compatible with myHUD Desktop and myHUD Mobile. Poly also plans to unveil the Poly Eagle Eye Mini Webcam, which uses 1080p high-definition video for video conferencing.

“Poly is thrilled to be at the crossroads of technology and design, where form meets function, alongside NetFortris, to enable work-from-anywhere,” said Chris Thorson, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Poly.

Now that remote working conditions have firmly set in modern life, technology from companies like Netfortris and Poly are wearing down the limitations, so that regular office spaces will have real competition even after the pandemic is over.

"The ability to work anywhere with cloud and mobile technologies took on new significance in 2020 as millions of workers, responding to the pandemic, instantly transformed spare bedrooms and kitchens into workspaces," said Steven Horgan, Director of Product Management at NetFortris. "While most of us expected the rise in work from home to be temporary, the benefits to both remote workers and employers have made it attractive as a permanent option. Now, it's time for companies to trade the ad-hoc and freemium solutions for enterprise-class technology that can support a hybrid workforce with collaboration, security and productivity."

The special episode featuring work-from-home solutions from NetFortris and Poly is scheduled for  January 8, 2021 for Designing SpacesTM on Lifetime TV.
