Bedford Report Provides Equity Research on Windstream and Vodafone

With the current status of market, investors are eyeing for a high yielding dividend plays as a safer bet. The telecom sector has been maintaining its steady growth and the companies in this sector have made dividend payments during the time of recession when other cut the dividends payments.
The Bedford Report has examined the outlook for companies in the Telecom Sector and provided equity research on Windstream Corporation and Vodafone Group PLC. Companies in the telecom industry are constantly coming up with new forms of communication applications which are not necessarily linked to internet access. Meanwhile, privacy, infrastructure and new payment methods are a few of the latest issues companies are contending with. The report highlights stock research on the Telecom Sector in order to provide insights to the investors to make the best investment decisions to maximize their returns.
As per the report, Vodafone (News
- Alert) presently pays an annual dividend of $1.92 a share for a hefty yield of around 6.8 percent. The company had also recently announced that it would pay out dividends worth a total of $3.3 billion to all of its stockholders in January 2012. Vodafone's dividend comes after Verizon Wireless announced that it would pay a $4.6 billion dividend to Vodafone, its joint venture parent. Windstream (News - Alert) Corporation currently pays an annual dividend of one dollar per share for a yield of around 8.4 percent. Windstream's posted a second-quarter profit of $93.2 million, or 18 cents per share, compared with $79 million, or 17 cents per share, a year earlier.
Vodafone was in news recently when it was reported that Vodafone Essar is looking to set India-specific greenhouse gas emission mitigation targets for itself as part of an initiative to reduce its carbon footprint by 20 percent globally by 2015.
