Codeship Gets $7M

Codeship has raised $7 million in its Series A round of funding. The round was led by Ascent Venture Partners. “We’ve positioned Codeship as an attractive investment, especially through the launch and subsequent expansion of our Docker initiatives, which have aligned the company with a hugely successful technology,” said Moritz Plassnig, CEO of Codeship. “In addition, our increased focus on enterprise clients has generated a significant influx of new users, each of whom have seen dramatic reductions in the amount of time it takes to move new products into production.”

One-Stop Shop Available for Linux

Mirantis and SUSE have announced that OpenStack customers can now use a one-stop shop to deploy any major Linux distribution, including Red Hat, SUSE, CentOS and Ubuntu. Mirantis will offer around the clock support with enterprise-grade SLAs.

Quali Intros New CloudShell Version

The newest version CloudShell (7.0) introduces support for deploying applications into sandboxes and expands the Quali Developer Community to allow more rapid full-stack integrations with cloud and infrastructure resources. That allows developers to create application templates that can be deployed within sandboxes and be agnostic as to whether the application runs in a data center, or a public or private cloud.

Red Hat Goes to School

The University of Cambridge has selected Red Hat to support its OpenStack-based high performance computing initiatives and plans to collaborate with Red Hat to bring HPC capabilities to the upstream OpenStack community.

WaveMaker Enhances Platform

There are two important enhancements to the Rapid Application Development platform offered by WaveMaker, the company announced in July. That includes single sign-on for WaveMaker-built and deployed applications using Central Authentication Server. That enables users to access multiple applications by providing credentials such as UserID and password only once. WaveMaker also now meets the standards addressing the top ten list of web application vulnerabilities published by the Open Web Application Security Project.

TIBCO Solution Addresses Entire API Lifecycle

The new Mashery Enterprise API platform for digital business initiatives from TIBCO Software Inc. has arrived. The company says Mashery Enterprise goes beyond traditional API management to cover the entire API lifecycle, allowing users to create, integrate, and manage APIs with a single offering. It is available now as a SaaS subscription.

GigaSpace Introduces TOSCA Training

Cloudify cloud orchestration project sponsor GigaSpaces (News - Alert) has launched an online training program for cloud architects and application developers interested in learning more about the TOSCA templating language. TOSCA stands for Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications from OASIS, and Introduction to TOSCA is the first course in this program. The program also will address how to implement the Cloudify project in developers’ cloud deployments.

ETSI (News - Alert) Group Launches OSM Release

ETSI’s Open Source MANO initiative has come out with its Release 0 code package. It integrates the seed code supplied by Telefonica (News - Alert), RIFT.io, Canonical and others, into a documented package of running code. ETSI OSM was established to deliver an open source NFV Management and Orchestration stack using best-in-class open source workflows and tools to ensure rapid development and delivery.

ForgeRock Unveils New Cloud Foundry Platform

Identity management solutions platform provider ForgeRock is previewing a new Cloud Foundry platform. It allows externally deployed ForgeRock solutions to protect applications and microservices running in Cloud Foundry. Developers working on the Cloud Foundry platform as a result can ensure a persistent identity that is portable across clouds for people-to-service and service-to-service (API-to-API) use cases.
