John W. Combs

John W. Combs brings extensive expertise in the voice market and an intimate understanding of how to quickly scale businesses with dynamic potential. Best known for leading the launch of Nextel's first digital wireless network, prior to ShoreTel, Combs was chairman and CEO of wireless infrastructure supplier Littlefeet.

Prior to that, he was CEO of InternetConnect, a broadband networking solutions provider. As Southwest area president of Nextel from 1993-1999, he led the company in service revenue and positive cash flow every quarter while rolling out Nextel's first digital wireless network. As executive vice president of L.A. Cellular, he was responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and customer care.

Before joining the cellular industry, Combs spent 20 years in the PBX business. He was president of Mitel Inc. when the company was the volume leader in PBX shipments in North America and prior to that was division general manager for Fujitsu Business Communications. He began his career at Western Electric (now Lucent). Combs holds an engineering degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Mike Regan

Michael Regan is the vice president of Unified IP development at Aspect. Regan has 20 years of professional experience and a demonstrated history of delivering complex voice and data networking products to market. Prior to Aspect, he was the vice president and co-founder of BlueNote Networks. As an expert in IP telephony and Web services, Regan has led product development for a number of leading communications companies including Ciena Corporation, Octave Communications, Castle Networks and Unisphere Networks, a Siemens subsidiary.

Arunas Chesonis

Arunas A. Chesonis serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of PAETEC Holding Corp., and is responsible for the vision, leadership, and direction of the company. Since being founding by Mr. Chesonis in 1998, PAETEC has achieved remarkable growth with 2008 annual revenues of $1.6 billion and serving nearly 47,000 businesses in all 50 states.

He has developed and fostered a unique, employee-focused culture PAETEC based on four core values: a Caring Culture, Open Communication, Unmatched Service and Personalized Solutions, and has co-written the business book, It Isn’t Just Business, It’s Personal. As a result, in 2009 the company was named one of the top ten best large companies to work for in New York State by NYS-SHRM and received the national American Business Ethics Award sponsored by the Society for Financial Service Professionals.

Mr. Chesonis began his career at Rochester Telephone Corporation and went on to serve as President of ACC Corp. and led the company until it was purchased by TCG/ATT in 1998. He’s received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Award by the College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology and was elected to the Rochester Business Hall of Fame.

He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester, and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Rochester. He is co-director of the MIT Sustainable Energy Revolution Program (SERP), and serves as trustee at the Harley School, Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester.

He also serves as a husband and father to wife Pam, and children Adam, Erik, Tessa and Emma Chesonis, for which the company was named by founding employees.

Sir Terence Matthews is Chairman of Wesley Clover and also serves as Chairman of Mitel and March Networks, two companies active in developing Internet Protocol (IP) systems for enterprise applications.

Prior to joining March Networks, he served as CEO and Chairman of Newbridge Networks Corporation, a company he founded in 1986. Providing leadership and vision for 14 years, Terry helped Newbridge become a leader in the worldwide data networking industry. When France-based Alcatel acquired Newbridge in May 2000, the company employed more than 6,500 employees and recorded FY 1999 revenue of $1.8 billion. In 1972, before launching Newbridge, Terry co-founded Mitel Corporation. Under his leadership Mitel grew quickly to become a world leader in the design and manufacture of enterprise voice systems and products. In 1985, British Telecom bought controlling interest in Mitel.

In 2001, Terry purchased the worldwide Communications Systems division of Mitel, and the Mitel name. Terry is a major investor in Mitel Networks Corporation, a company focused on providing next generation Unified Communications solutions, and holds the position of non-executive Chairman. Terry also serves as Chairman or Director for a number of high technology companies including Bridgewater Systems, March Networks, Solace Systems and Counterpath Corporation.

In addition Terry holds an honours degree in electronics from the University of Wales, Swansea and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has been awarded honorary doctorates by several universities, including the University of Wales, Glamorgan and Swansea, and Carleton University in Ottawa. In 1994, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in the 2001 Queen's Birthday Honours, he was awarded a Knighthood.

Ali Tabassi

Ali Tabassi is senior vice president of global ecosystem & standards for Clearwire, responsible for driving industry standards and the global ecosystem to achieve Clearwire’s corporate strategies. He is also responsible for positioning the corporation as an industry leader in technology & product innovation by leading the company’s global advocacy program. This program educates foreign government regulators & ministers, as well as operators, while also promoting Clearwire’s technology, products, and services resulting in a broader ecosystem. He champions the development and implementation of intellectual property invention disclosures as well as establishing Clearwire’s domestic and international roaming program. Mr. Tabassi also is responsible for Clearwire International’s network engineering and operations in Ireland, Spain, Belgium, Romania, Poland, and Germany.

Mr. Tabassi has over 20 years of experience in the development, integration, and operation of wireless solutions in the telecommunications, networking, and IP industries. Prior to joining Clearwire in 2008, Mr. Tabassi was acting CTO and vice president of technology development and architecture for Sprint Nextel, responsible for leading the development of technology, network, systems architecture and evolution strategies. He also oversaw evaluation of emerging technologies that enable delivery of differentiated products and services in pursuit of new business opportunities. Mr. Tabassi ensured that Sprint Nextel was at the forefront of technology innovation. Prior to Sprint, Mr. Tabassi was EVP and chief technology and development officer for MobileStar, a provider of wireless broadband access. Prior to MobileStar, Mr. Tabassi was vice president of engineering and operations for SkyTel, a leader in wireless messaging, managing network planning, system design, project management, implementation, maintenance, and operations of SkyTel’s Nationwide Traditional and Advanced Messaging Networks. Mr. Tabassi also served as director of engineering services for both Alltel Mobile, the cellular division of ALLTEL Corporation, and for LCC International, one of the world's leading telecommunication consulting firms.

Mr. Tabassi holds a MBA and two Bachelor of Science degrees, in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.

Dr. Don Brown

Dr. DON BROWN co-founded Interactive Intelligence, in October 1994 and serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Interactive Intelligence is the third successful company that Dr. Brown has founded. The first was sold to EDS and the second, Software Artistry, went public in 1995 and was subsequently acquired by IBM. Dr. Brown is well respected throughout the communications industry as one of its most visionary figures. As CEO at Interactive Intelligence, he has primary day-to-day operational management responsibility, but his most significant role continues to be his overseeing the ongoing product and technical direction of the 600-person company. Dr. Brown graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He also holds two additional degrees from Indiana University, an M.S. in computer science and a B.S. in physics.
