Asterisk and Pingtel have done a great job preaching the open source pbx mantra. Many companies are using these systems to run their enterprise or service provider network on. You get all the reliability of linux a product that is relatively inexpensive to run. But is pen surce right for you and is it easy enough for you to operate effectively. Will the cost savings you initially enjoy translate into long-term tco. In other words ill you be happy with your open source PBX. While there is no way to know for sure there is no substitute for being prepared and no summit to better prepare you to answer the question: should I move to an open source pbx?
