As the Global Telecommunications Strategy Executive within IBM’s Communication Sector, Christopher (Chris) Douglass, is responsible for managing the strategy and execution of growth initiatives in the global telecommunications industry for IBM. He focuses on developing evolving business models and industry value chain solutions, delivery and transformation services, and industry technical standards that enable next generation value-added solutions such as wireless, IP multimedia subsystems, and service delivery platforms for IBM and its clients.
Previously, he was an advanced infrastructure leader for IBM’s Americas’ pervasive/wireless emerging business organization (EBO) as part of IBM’s Global Services. He led a team of thought leaders who were responsible for providing emerging advanced wireless communications and IT infrastructures, including security and device management.
Douglass has more than 20 years of extensive knowledge and experience in the mobile and wireless and telecommunications industry. He has successfully contributed to multiple business transformation engagements delivering various mobile, wireless, and telecommunication end-to-end solutions to various business and government client’s resulting in significant improvement in their operating practices. Prior to joining IBM, Douglass held a broad array of positions in management, consultative technical solution sales, and marketing at two of the largest wireless service providers in the United States.
Douglass earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio and an associate’s degree in business administration from Southern Vermont College. Douglass has earned various awards in his career, including IBM’s Leadership award twice.
