He started his career in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with a small touchscreen company now known as Elo Touch Systems. He has worked in IT in the medical, aerospace, ERP, hospitality, telephony, and soft drink industries for Lockheed Martin, IBM, Intercontinental Hotels, Verizon, and Coca Cola primarily in the Atlanta, GA market. He has been working at the Clarity Division of Plantronics in Chattanooga, TN for the last 7 years as a telephony, PBX, systems, and network engineer.

Julius P. Knapp II is the chief of the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) Office of Engineering Technology (OET). OET is the Commission’s primary resource for engineering expertise and provides technical support to the Chairman, Commissioners and FCC Bureaus and Offices.
Mr. Knapp was named Chief of OET in October 2006, succeeding Ed Thomas who left the previous year, although he was the acting chief for some time before that. He became the Deputy Chief of OET in May 2001. Prior to that he was the Chief of the Policy & Rules Division where he was responsible for FCC frequency allocation proceedings and for proceedings amending the FCC rules for radio frequency devices. Mr. Knapp was Chief of the FCC Laboratory from 1994–1997 where he was responsible for the FCC’s equipment authorization program and technical analyses.
Mr. Knapp received a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from the City College of New York in 1974. He is a member of the IEEE EMC Society and is a Fellow of the Radio Club of America. He was the 2001 recipient of the Eugene C. Bowler award for exceptional professionalism and dedication to public service and received the FCC’s Silver and Gold medal awards for distinguished service at the Commission.

Tim Wagner joined Samsung Mobile in 2010 as Vice President and General Manager of Business to Business (B2B) Sales. Mr. Wagner’s responsibilities include the management and growth of Carrier, Channel and Direct Sales of Samsung’s Enterprise Solution Portfolio (Smartphones, Tablets, Accessories and Vertical Applications) in the United States. He is also responsible for the evaluation, evolution and marketing of Samsung’s Enterprise Solutions, now called SAFE (Samsung Approved For Enterprise), with both internal Samsung Development Organizations as well as Strategic Partners.
Mr. Wagner joined Samsung from Research In Motion (RIM), where he was responsible for Business Solution Sales in North America. During his tenure at RIM, he was responsible for creating, managing and growing overlay solution sales and support teams for RIM’s Carrier Business Units, Direct Sales Organization and Channels Organization. Prior to his work at RIM, Mr. Wagner was responsible for Sales at Ascendent Systems which was acquired by RIM in March of 2006. Mr. Wagner has held senior leadership positions at several other high-tech companies such as Watch Hill Partners (acquired by MasterCard Advisors) and GreenPages Technology Solutions.
Mr. Wagner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont’s Kalkin School of Business with a double concentration of International Business and Management Information Systems (MIS).

Chris Swearingen

With more than 20 years experience in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and International Marketing, Chris Swearingen is currently leading the SenseAware effort for FedEx. In his role, Chris oversees the US domestic and global rollout of SenseAware.
He has spent the last seven years at FedEx fulfilling a multitude of roles. Chris was hired by FedEx to launch its entry into NASCAR. In 2007, he was asked to move to the Innovation Department to utilize his start-up experience on the SensAware project. He was responsible for prototyping various business models, customer deployment and the day-to-day business operations of SenseAware.
Chris’ duties were recently expanded to include overseeing the SenseAware strategic direction including product development, customer experience, User-Interface design and market expansion.
His career has been eclectic with a mix of entrepreneurial, corporate and agency experience. He has worked with McDonald’s and various other Fortune 100 companies. He owned multiple Play It Again Sports stores and was the President of 360¬¬? Sports Marketing. Roush Racing acquired the agency and Chris went on to work as a senior member of the race team.

Paget L. Alves is the President of the Business Markets Group (BMG) for Sprint Nextel. He is responsible for all of Sprints sales and marketing to enterprise, general business and public sector customers. The Business Markets Groups portfolio of services includes IP, international wireless and wireline and domestic 3G and 4G wireless. As part of his BMG responsibilities, Paget also oversees the development of strategic alliances for Sprint.
Prior to his current position, Alves was the President of Sales & Distribution for Sprint Nextel. Previously, he served as President - South Region for Sprint, with responsibility for managing the P&L, all sales and distribution channels and local marketing programs in an 11-state region.
Alves has more than 20 years of experience with technology companies. In addition to his Sprint career, he has served as President & Chief Executive Officer of the Internet telephony services provider PointOne Telecommunications, Inc., President & Chief Operating Officer of Centennial Communications and Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Murata Business Systems, Inc. He began his career as an attorney with IBM.
His business and professional affiliations include his current role as a member of the Board of Directors of Herman Miller, Inc., a global provider of office furniture.
In November of 2008, Alves was recognized for his leadership and success in business and community endeavors with the CareerFOCUS Eagle Award, presented by the National Eagle Leadership Institute.
Alves holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School.

Mr. Gates currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Xirrus. He brings more than 15 years of executive management experience to Xirrus as well as a track record of success evolving a high-tech startup into a world class, publicly traded company. Having founded Xircom, Inc. in 1988 on the premise of delivering Ethernet connectivity to mobile computers, he attracted venture funding from Greylock, grew the company to 2,000 employees, and achieved revenues of $500M and a market cap in excess of $2B.
During his tenure as Chairman and CEO, Mr. Gates led Xircom into the wireless arena through partnerships and acquisitions that positioned the company to deliver mobility solutions based on IEEE 802.11, GPRS and BlueTooth technologies. He subsequently negotiated the sale of Xircom to Intel Corp. in March of 2001.
Mr. Gates holds a BSEE from California State University at Northridge and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
