In this speech Dr. Daniel will show how to compete and win projects using Asterisk in the Enterprise against the big players in the market such as Cisco and Avaya.

Dr. Daniel Krahenbuhl has a wide knowledge of Linux, and business with Open-Source solutions, wireless solutions, mobile business solutions, and information security products. After his PhD in Computer Science in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT - USA), Dr Daniel incorporated Scout24, in Europe, and found two strong investors for it in Metro Group and BHS (large trading organizations). Scout24 was founded in 1998; today Scout24 is Europe's largest online market place with as many as 100 million visits per year. Scout24 was sold out to T-Online (German Telekom). Since 2008, Dr Daniel is serving as CEO and co-founder of Intuittech Sdn Bhd, a successful start-up company in Malaysia which is fully focused on selling Asterisk- and Nagios-based solutions and services, globally. With 300% sales growth over 2009, with the Digium Award as proof factor of the reliability of Intuit services, with new products in the pipeline for 2010, with internal expansion, Dr Daniel and Intuit are setting up the standards in Open-Source business.

João Mesquita has been working on the telecommunication market for the past 15 years, where his passion over the OpenSource software was always dominant. DiaStar extends the media and signalling functionality of Asterisk in the following areas:
• Video - Interactive Voice and Video Response (IVVR) and Video Conferencing
• Call progress and custom tone detection
• SS7 and SIGTRAN signalling

This talk will detail how developers create video applications (such as IVVR and video conferencing) using DiaStar with Asterisk from the Dial Plan. In addition, we will also cover how to access the CPA, Tone Detection and Advanced Signalling functions of DiaStar. Delivering media to fixed and mobile devices will also be covered. It will explore the benefits of DiaStar functionality and provide real world use cases.

Antony Martin has been involved in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years and joined Dialogic in February 2009. He has held roles as CEO, CTO in previous employment and was the co-creator and a key contributor to the ContactQ open source call center product. As a developer Martin's experience ranges from PBX hardware and embedded software to IVR, Call Center and Unified Messaging software and systems. Martin is a graduate of DeMontfort University, Leicester UK.

Steve Sokol, Asterisk Marketing Director, will review the latest enhancements to the Asterisk open source communications engine.

Steve Sokol is the Marketing Director for Asterisk at Digium. Steve's primary function is spreading the word about the limitless capabilities and incredible value of the Asterisk communications engine. Steve's experience with the revolutionary open source platform dates to 2003. In 2004 he co-founded AstriCon, the official Asterisk community conference and exhibition. Shortly thereafter he launched a highly successful Asterisk training venture. In 2007 both the training program and the conference were acquired by Digium.

Steve has worked in the telecommunications software industry since the early 1990s. Prior to his discovery of Asterisk, he worked as a communications consultant and solutions architect. His client list included Sprint, Sprint PCS, Computer Instruments, TWA and Stream International (now Stream Global Services). He was the chief architect of the award winning eIVR platform and of Stream International's innovative Q-View management information system.

Originally from the Kansas City, Missouri area, Steve now lives in Tulsa, OK. He is married to Amy, a brilliant health care attorney and the father of Katie, a brilliant
5th grader.
