Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is the delivery of television or video content broadcast over broadband IP networks, such as those provided by fiber deployments to the home, cable, or DSL. Increasingly, IPTV is being bundled with other services delivered over the broadband pipe, such as voice and high-speed data. IPTV poses unique challenges for service providers who need to field equipment that allows them to deliver high-quality, time-sensitive video content to hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
