Opher Kahane is a true industry leader in voice over IP technology with more than 15 years of direct industry experience. As vice president of voice technologies at Juniper Networks, Kahane oversees Juniper's VoIP strategy and product development. Before its purchase by Juniper, Kahane co-founded Kagoor Networks, acting as its chief executive officer and a primary driver behind the new session border control market category. Kahane was an early developer in the voice over IP industry, is the author of multiple patents, a key contributor to the H.323 standard, and a founding member of the VoIP Forum. Before co-founding Kagoor in early 2000, Kahane served as vice president, strategic planning and global alliances at VocalTec Communications, where he was responsible for establishing key partnerships with industry leaders. Kahane came to VocalTec when his company ClassX, which he co-founded and where he developed the industry's first commercial VoIP product, merged into VocalTec in 1993. Kahane holds a B.S. with honors, in computer science and mathematics, from Tel Aviv University.
