HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD!

Internet Telephony® Conference and EXPO Moves to L.A.

Ah…Los Angeles, California. Home of Rodeo Drive, Melrose Place, the Sunset Strip, Venice Beach, the Kodak Theater, Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, and of course, the Walk of Fame. A star-studded tourist haven, the City of Angels welcomes Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO for the first time ever. And our “Hollywood” premiere will be our biggest and most star-studded event yet.

An historic landmark and former host of the Oscars ceremonies, the Millennium Biltmore Hotel welcomes us from October 4–7 as we present a showcase of the best that Internet telephony has to offer: A world-class conference program, expert speakers, a bustling Exhibit Hall featuring the latest cutting-edge products and services, and unmatched networking opportunities. There is no other forum that will give you this type of access to the experts in our field, giving you the knowledge you need to make it big in the Internet telephony space. So, if you are ready to see, firsthand, which tools put these companies in the IP telephony spotlight, come and join us in California!

Can’t Miss Workshops & TMC University
This event has sessions and workshops for everyone. Service providers should not miss Tuesday’s tracks which include a roundtable discussion on Residential VoIP, a lesson on security on the IP telephony network, and an intro on hosted VoIP.

This year, we’re expanding our enterprise conference content to include specially designed sessions relating to government entities, organizations focused on military and defense initiatives, and large enterprises including the Fortune 500.
Also making its debut this year is the ECA Convergence Forum, which will feature Allan Sulkin’s IP Telephony Bootcamp.

And making their return to the conference program are the always popular SIP Workshop, WiFi Telephony Summit, and IP Contact Center track.

Responding to the demand created by the need for a common standard of education and achievement in the VoIP and related spaces, TMC University returns to instruct and certify attendees on IP PBX strategies and tactics. At the Los Angeles event, attendees will have the opportunity to take first degree as well as advanced degree classes studying IP PBXs. These courses have been given live twice and over 100 students have participated in the certifications.

IP PBX Shootout
Need to make up your mind between bringing an IP-based telecom system in house, or having your services hosted? Get ready for this great debate! This special panel showcases the pros and cons of both options, promising a very interesting head-to-head discussion! We invite you to attend the fifth installment of the IP PBX Shootout at Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO Wednesday October 6, at 10:00am. Participating companies include AltiGen Communications, NEC, Interactive Intelligence, Covad, Sphere, Viper Networks, EADS Telecom, Sylantro, M5, and Artisoft.

What’s Ahead for IP Telephony
Many of our attendees, panelists, and exhibitors come to our shows to learn how new service and product developments will shape the future of the Internet telephony space and telecom in general. On Tuesday October 5, the Future of IP Telephony panel will meet, showcasing an exchange of ideas and expectations from industry giants, what they see happening with IP telephony in the future, and a defined timeline for these accomplishments. Featured companies in this discussion are: digium, NEC, Nortel Networks, Qovia, Cisco Systems, Lucent Technologies, Quintum Technologies, snom, and Brix Networks.

WiMAXcon
New this year, co-locating with Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO will be the WiMAXcon conference. The WiMAXcon conference program will focus on topics that are important to everyone wanting to learn about and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, regulatory issues, essential issues, and trends in the broadband wireless industry. This conference will take place on October 7 with Exhibit Hall times during the 6th and 7th. The program will zoom in on the state of WiMAX, including the implementation of broadband wireless, a discussion of WiMAX business opportunities, real world WiMAX applications and its technology development trends. This workshop will serve as a review and discussion of various opportunities for using WiMAX technology in conjunction with a cable operator’s hybrid fiber coax networks to increase market reach, improve service offerings, and provide mobile/nomadic service.

Pierre Simard from Ottawa, Ontario Canada, says: “I attended the 2004 Internet Telephony Conference & EXPO in Miami to improve my knowledge of enterprise IP PBX solutions and to find new applications that could meet our business requirements. I believe that it was the most informative conference that I have attended on IP telephony to date. The sessions were thorough, understandable, and unbiased. There were opportunities to meet both with vendors and with other enterprises planning a switch to IP telephony. All in all, it was a very valuable conference for me.”
