Komodor Named a 2021 Gartner Cool Vendor

Komodor, the platform set to redefine Kubernetes troubleshooting, today announced that it has been recognized as a Cool Vendor based on the October 11, 2021 report titled "Cool Vendors™ in Monitoring and Observability -- Modernize Legacy, Prepare for Tomorrow" by Padraig Byrne, Gregg Siegfried, and Venkat Rayapudi.

The company just recently came out of stealth, when it announced its $25 Million Series A back in June. The round was led by Accel with participation from NFX Capital, Pitango First, and OldSlip Group. Angel investors include industry veterans Jason Warner, CTO of GitHub; Sri Viswanath, CTO of Atlassian (News - Alert); Danny Grander, Co-Founder of Snyk; Tomer Levy, CEO of Logz.io; Amir Jerbi, Co-Founder of Aqua Security and others.

According to Gartner (News - Alert), "Observability continues to increase in importance as a key mechanism to understand modern architectures and applications. Legacy monitoring solutions may not innovate with sufficient speed, so I&O leaders should look to these cool vendors to close their visibility gaps." This is where Komodor steps in, by being the first platform to offer a unified timeline view of all events across the entire Kubernetes stack, providing developers, operations, and on-call teams with the precise insights they need to solve issues efficiently and independently.

This week the company also annunced a new experience called Workflows that automates the process of troubleshooting common Kubernetes errors. Leveraging a multitude of signals already collected by the platform, Workflows uses smart algorithms to quickly detect Kubernetes issues, identify their root cause and recommend steps for their remediation, dramatically cutting down on the time it takes to resolve production issues.

"We're honored to be recognized by Gartner alongside the other great companies," said Ben Ofiri, CEO and Co-Founder of Komodor. "Kubernetes is one of the fastest growing open source projects in history and is becoming the heart of modern applications. We believe that the community and ecosystem around the technology will only continue to grow over the next decade, and we have dedicated our company's mission to simplifying the troubleshooting process for companies building applications on top of Kubernetes."

About the founders

Ben Ofiri, CEO: Ben has a decade-long track record in software development and product management, including six years at Google (News - Alert) where he served as product lead for Google's Duplex -- the company's flagship conversational AI project. Ben's experience at Google familiarized him with small and large-scale Kubernetes deployments, providing him with an in-depth understanding of the challenges involved in troubleshooting complex distributed systems.

Itiel Shwartz, CTO: Itiel has worked as an engineer at eBay (News - Alert), Forter, and Rookout where he was the software developer. He's an experienced backend and infrastructure engineer turned 'DevOps', as well as an avid public speaker who loves talking about infrastructure, Kubernetes, Python, observability and the evolution of R&D culture.

Quote of support

"After a quick installation, and with surprisingly little setup, Komodor provided us with a unified view of all changes, and their ripple effect, saving our dev teams valuable time on troubleshooting in our increasingly complex Kubernetes environments." -- Ryan White, VP of Engineering Operations at TuneIn
