Octo Consulting Group Names Two New Vice Presidents to Lead Its Civilian and Commerce Divisions


Octo Consulting Group (Octo), a premier next-generation IT Federal services provider, today announced the hires of Simon Godwin as Vice President of Federal Civilian programs and Craig Summers as Vice President focusing on commerce accounts. Both leaders have decades of leadership experience in software development, IT operations and program management for Federal government and public sector clients.

Simon Godwin joins Octo with a proven track record of success, having held a variety of leadership positions with an operational and technical focus including providing Agie, DevOps, software development as well as IT operations and management services for civilian customers.

Godwin received his BS degree in Applied Physics from the University of Delaware and an MS degree in Computer Science from George Mason University. He has held lead roles on a variety of mission critical civilian programs including in the engineering and development of the ePassport and Passport Card for the State Department.


In addition, Godwin is a certified Project Management Professional and AWS Business Professional with a supplementary certification in ITIL Foundations. In 2004, Simon was selected as an ACT IAC partner. He was also co-chair of the 2016 PSC Vision Conference Technology Forecast presentation.

Craig Summers joins Octo with 25 years of experience in strategic leadership, having held senior leadership positions at several companies serving the government community including CollabraLink Technologies, where he was Vice President of Technology, and positions at the same level at MAXIMUS Federal, Acentia LLC, and 2020 Company, LLC.

Summers has a BS in Finance from Virginia Tech and is both a Certified Scrum Master and a Certified Project Management Professional.
