"Canon Inc.'s role in this market continues to be a valuable part of Canon U.S.A. and Virtual Imaging's  forward-thinking approach and we are always delighted to afford guests the opportunity to experience what Canon U.S.A. and Virtual Imaging have to offer to help bolster their diagnostic imaging technology capabilities."

Within the Canon and Virtual Imaging booth, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of offerings from each company designed to meet challenges experienced in medical imaging.

High-Quality Imaging and User-Friendly Design
Last year, Canon U.S.A. celebrated that its parent company, Canon Inc., surpassed a significant milestone: the sale of 40,000 digital radiography detectors worldwide since 1998. The latest models, the CXDI-710C/810C/410C Wireless Detectors, allow for the delivery of high-resolution images at swift preview times through the use of CXDI Control Software NE. A 2018 recipient of iF Design Awards, these detectors are lightweight1, and their ergonomically sculpted design with rounded corners allows users to grip the device comfortably and aids in positioning for radiographic exams.

Improve Performance, Productivity and Workflow
The RadPRO®2 Mobile 40kW FLEX PLUS Digital X-Ray System features a patented Enhanced Workflow Package, which offers the ability to access hospital HIS/RIS/PACS systems at bedside to expedite turnaround times. he system's wireless Distributed Antenna System (DAS) can increase wireless range 40 percent over single access point systems. An LED status indicator light assists the end-user in confirming the status of the system while in operation.

Migration to Digital Radiography
Under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016, the United States congress incentivized the conversion to DR by decreasing Medicare reimbursements for film and CR use. Healthcare facilities that have not already transitioned to DR must find ways to implement DR at a pace that is in line with their budget and business model. Virtual Imaging offers its DR Tablet Solution, which consists of a tablet and choice of a CXDI Wireless Digital Detector and CXDI Control Software NE.3 The auto-detection mode of the detector allows for X-rays to be automatically detected at exposure without the use of a typical generator interface. The tablet's unique Wi-Fi® capability allows users to acquire images from the detector while previous images are simultaneously sent to PACS.

Image Processing Functionality
At AHRA, Canon U.S.A. will unveil the latest version of CXDI Control Software NE. With CXDI Control Software NE v2.17, users can take advantage of functionality such as:

  • Multi-Touch Support: allows for intuitive touch operations, including zoom, pan and list scrolling
  • Advanced Edge Enhancement: makes it easy to highlight catheters or fine structures suitable for measurement or other applications
  • Multiple Image Processing: enables multiple copies of an image to be created and protocols replaced with a single button click
