New Statewide Online Public Charter School Approved for Oregon Students in Grades K-8Cascade Virtual Academy (CVA), a new full-time online public charter school, is now accepting enrollments for the 2018-19 school year. Authorized by Mitchell School District, CVA will serve students in kindergarten through eighth grade from across the state of Oregon. As a public school option, CVA is tuition-free for Oregon residents. "We are thrilled to offer this new public school option to Oregon families," said CVA head of school Tim Jalkanen. Students will use web-based lessons and hands-on instructional materials that are shipped to their homes. Enrollment for Fall 2018 is now open, and informational events are being held statewide to allow prospective families to meet school staff and determine if online learning is right for them.
