Real Vision Streaming Media Platform Announces $10 Million in New Funding for Expansion

Real Vision, the leading video-on-demand service for financial and business media, announces $10 million in new funding to expand its production of actionable interviews, long-form documentaries and in-depth analysis from finance experts. Real Vision is transforming the media landscape through a unique subscriber model that does not rely on advertising revenue. The company is also announcing the launch of their new over-the-top channel, which is currently available on Apple (News - Alert) TV and will soon be available on Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices.

Unlike traditional cable news that sensationalizes every moment of the trading day and focuses on market movements, Real Vision offers investors access to thorough insights from a curated selection of the most successful investors, analysts, economists and business owners. With an average subscriber age range of 36-45, Real Vision's programming also appeals to a significantly younger audience than that of traditional cable business news channels (average viewer ages in the late 60s). Real Vision's subscribers are also affluent and educated - 40% earn over $200,000 per year and 40% have investments in excess of $500,000, while 80% have a Bachelor's degree or higher. Users are also highly engaged in Real Vision content, viewing on average 35 mins of video per day and 225 minutes per month.

The $10 million in Series B funding follows an initial $5 million financing round which was raised from several prominent hedge fund managers and investors. The new funding will be used to invest in a multitude of new immersive series, including new programming to appeal to those who want to create new business opportunities and startups, manage new enterprises and leverage new technology. The platform's on-demand videos, which can be accessed anywhere, range from five minutes to 90 minutes in length. The funding round, which was financed by Real Vision accredited subscribers, was increased from $7 million to accommodate the enthusiasm from their subscribers. The offeringwas three times oversubscribed.

Real Vision is also announcing a unique new content distribution partnership with Thomson Reuters (News - Alert), which will distribute the company's programming on its flagship products at banks, brokerage houses, asset managers and financial services providers around the world. Real Vision's documentary series "A World on the Brink" - which focuses on the most pressing threats to the global economy - is also currently airing on PBS affiliates across the nation.

"Sensationalism and clickbait is at an all-time high. Traditional financial news has continued to degenerate into attention-seeking sound bites that are at best of little value and at worst, downright dangerous," said Real Vision co-founder and CEO Raoul Pal. "Our objective is to always present subscribers the best, most transparent analysis and opinions available. Real Vision is now a very serious competitor to traditional financial and business media."

Featuring more than 1,000 videos, newsletters, research reports and podcasts, Real Vision's actionable content is already resonating with investors and traders. The company's thousands of paying subscribers are evidence that Real Vision's approach to creating engaging, long-form subscription content is the future of media.

Real Vision was founded in 2014 by Pal along with Damian Horner, Grant Williams and Remi Tetot - all groundbreaking thinkers from the finance and media industries. Pal is well known for accurately predicting the 2008 financial crisis in his renowned Global Macro Investor publication and helping make massive returns for his clients - including prominent hedge funds, family offices and investment firms. Pal and his co-founders started Real Vision to democratize financial information and give investors of all levels the tools needed to succeed in unstable economic times.

A subscription for Real Vision is $180 annually, providing subscribers access to its growing archive of nearly 1,000 hours of video. Visit RealVision.com for more information and a free trial.
