Cicayda Launches Version 3.0 of Cloud-Based Fermata Legal Hold Solution With Foreign Language Support

FRANKLIN, Tenn., April 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cicayda, a leading legal technology company that couples powerful software with its legal expertise, today announced the latest update to its cloud-based litigation hold solution – Fermata Version 3.0. The new version extends the benefits of Fermata’s SaaS-based legal hold notification solution to accurately manage and track the cumbersome litigation hold process, making it more efficient, while enabling the earliest use of Fermata in the beginning or pre-stages of litigation. It also now offers full foreign language support for Legal Holds, for languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Cyrillic, Spanish and more.

Fermata streamlines the time-consuming task of legal hold notifications, while improving accuracy to maximize defensibility. With Fermata, notifications are handled quickly and effectively, with automated confirmation and hold reminders, confirmation links, questionnaires, auto-generated emails and custodian list attachments. Within minutes of signing in, Fermata’s clients can automate the process of sending out legal hold notifications and questionnaires to as many as thousands of custodians. An expert solution in legal holds, Fermata has delivered more than 500,000 legal hold notifications and questionnaires for law firms and corporate clients nationwide.

New features of Fermata Legal Hold 3.0 include:

  • Two-factor authentication to provide an additional security layer to Fermata in accordance with current corprate enterprise security trends.
  • White labeling to allow its clients to brand Fermata internally as an in-house litigation hold system. This increases adoption and response by custodians under hold, as hold notices and questionnaires will not appear as potential spam or phishing mechanisms.
  • Customizable reports generated by Fermata’s reporting tool to provide autonomy over report formatting without having to use external tools.

“While many corporate legal departments and law firms still handle legal holds manually and try to track them with spreadsheets, Fermata Legal Hold vastly improves the legal hold process by ensuring that notices are received and accurately tracked every step of the way with our complete solution that can scale to thousands of notification recipients in English or other languages,” said Cicayda CEO Billy Hyatt. “Unlike other solutions that charge per custodian, our subscription-based service offers unlimited legal holds, and importantly, our legal hold emails are not blocked by spam filters because of our approach.”

According to Sarah Baalson, paralegal, Legal Dept., The Dart Network, "We have been long time users of Fermata and have found the new version of legal hold to be intuitive and very user-friendly. Cicayda's customer service is outstanding and the team was always happy to look into specific design questions, resulting in an excellent new product that easily permits tracking, searching, cross-referencing, and running reports."

Fermata is available for a free 30-day trial at www.cicayda.com, and can be purchased directly from the site. Cicayda offers pricing by hold or unlimited holds, with no limits on the number of emails, users, matters, hold notices, custodians, and questionnaires for annual or multi-year subscriptions. Unlike competitors, Fermata does not use custodian-based pricing so its customers have predictable annual hold costs.

Fermata Legal Hold has flexible customization capabilities and seamless integration with various active directories to pull custodian lists, and Citrix Sharefile to provide file upload capabilities for custodians.

Fermata Legal Hold helps automate the cumbersome litigation hold process. When a lawsuit occurs — or is anticipated — an organization’s in-house or outside counsel must communicate a legal hold notice to potential custodians of information relevant to the matter. The "duty to preserve" electronically stored information (ESI) related to the lawsuit must be clearly and consistently communicated in order to ensure data is not destroyed or altered, either accidentally or deliberately.
