igolgi Announces iGoCast OTT Broadcast Platform at NAB 2018

NAB Show 2018 -- To keep pace with viewers' multi-channel, multi-device lifestyle, igolgi, a leading provider of video processing, delivery and analytics software and solutions, will introduce iGoCast, a new service that delivers local broadcast content through over-the-top (OTT) platforms, at the NAB Show, Las Vegas Convention Center, April 9 - 12, 2018.

As small broadcasters transition to digital operations, they face the added challenge of attracting customers who increasingly want TV Everywhere and HD video streaming services. With the igolgi iGoCast system, local broadcasters have an easy way to make their content available over IP to Android (News - Alert) and iOS platforms, while complying with their geographical distribution rights. Subscribers simply download an app and watch branded programming anywhere - from phones to laptops to smart TVs.

Heartland Broadcasting Network, a local broadcast company in Kansas City offering the TV25 service, is the first iGoCast customer.

"In today's competitive media landscape, LPTV stations have to offer more than high power to be noticed. igolgi helps us do just that by becoming the first station in the U.S. to continuously broadcast 12 channels on one frequency," says Brian Short, COO of Heartland. "Even though our three transmitters give us a high power footprint, we aren't on cable, and many rabbit ear users can't receive our offerings. We are excited to be able to reach thoe viewers, along with the rest of the small screen service users who are unaware of free OTA TV, by using igolgi's streaming server."

Short added, "While there are many OTT players in the market, only igolgi offers a low cost entry product with the flexibility to use our own bandwidth. And because we knew firsthand how responsive the igolgi team is, we believe they are the right choice to help us reach a whole new segment of viewers."

igolgi has partnered with Xperio Labs, a Hong Kong-based company, to develop the client platforms and middleware to deliver the overall service. The igolgi iGoCast is a complete headend-in-a-box solution for live and file video content, including igolgi transcoders, Origin, streaming servers and encryption systems.

"Leveraging our expertise and the deployed systems in our current customer base, we have worked closely with igolgi to create a client platform that is easy to use and a middleware platform tailored for a small broadcaster. We believe a rapid adoption of the iGoCast service will enable an even richer feature set in the future," says Roshan (News - Alert) Dsouza, CEO of Xperio Labs.

"We are very keen on creating a service that works well for small broadcasters. We want to make it seamless and painless from a technology perspective, while creating new business opportunities with expanded distribution," says Jeff Cooper, CEO of igolgi Inc. "Our partnership with Xperio Labs has allowed us to bring iGoCast to the market in a short timeframe."
