E8 Storage and AIC Demonstrate New NVMe 'Mission Peak' Flash Storage Array at Cloud Expo Europe, Booth C1950LONDON, March 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- E8 Storage and AIC today announced both companies will be demonstrating 'Mission Peak', a new high density, all NVMe Flash storage array at Booth C1950 of upcoming Cloud Expo Europe held at the London ExCel, from March 21 to 22. The new array is a direct response to the rapidly increasing need for data-intensive applications such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and High Performance Computing in datacenter environments. E8 Storage's recently launched stand-alone storage software sits at the heart of AIC's Mission Peak array, allowing it to unleash the full performance of NVMe SSDs with no compromises on reliability, performance or availability. Mission Peak is also the very first flash storage array to make full use of Samsung's new 1U NF1 Small Form Factor SSD, which includes up to 36 front-serviceable NF1 SSD bays with hot-swap functionality. Samsung's updated form factor also ensures AIC's array delivers dramatic improvements in memory storage capacity, IOPS, scaling and space utilization when compared to other 1U rack servers. "We are excited to be bringing our new Mission Peak array to Cloud Expo Europe," explains Michael Liang, the President and CEO of AIC. "These arrays are very well suited to the requirements of cloud service companies and, in particular, the intense, unforgiving and unrelenting needs of their datacenters - where the pressure never lets up for greater capacity and processing speed within the most efficient, space-saving format. Mission Peak provides a solution for this tough environment through a combination of our innovative development, Samsung's advanced form factor and E8 Storage's industry-respected storage management software." With dual-socket Intel Skylake-SP CPUs and up to 24 DDR4 DIMMs of memory, AIC's new array is ideal for I/O-intensive local workloads, such as real-time analytics and database servers as well as financial and trading applications, business intelligence and transactional processing. Tests suggest that this 1U system can process about 10 million random read IOPS, which triples the IOPS performance of a 1U server equipped with 2.5-inch SSDs. A petabyte capacity can be achieved using only two of the 576TB systems. "There's no let-up on the need for enterprises to scale their storage requirements while reducing their stoage footprint and improving storage performance," comments Zivan Ori, Co-founder and CEO of E8 Storage. "This delicate balancing act is only possible when storage arrays deploy strong, sophisticated and reliable storage management software. That's why we are delighted to be working in partnership with AIC and Samsung to bring these new Mission Peak SSD arrays to market." "The massive increase and reliance on data hungry applications, means that datacenters continually crave better space and scale options," concludes Chanik Park, vice president of NAND Memory Planning, Memory Business at Samsung Electronics at Samsung. "AIC's use of our new form factor, in combination with its choice of E8 Storage's cutting edge software-based storage management technology is bound to get people talking at Cloud Expo - especially when they see the system in operation and what it's actually capable of achieving in real-time." Demonstrations of the new AIC array will take place during the show at booth C1950.
