Security Token Academy to Explore How Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) Will Evolve to Security Token Offerings (STOs)

The Security Token Academy, a new online resource exploring the forthcoming security token industry, launches today. A live-online, multi-city panel discussion on March 21 will be the Academy's first event.

The promise of security tokens can apply to both the use of token issuances for fundraising as well as the tokenization of a multi-trillion dollar pool of assets including real estate, debt and equity.

By using security tokens, the efficiency and effectiveness of tokens, with their potential to improve asset liquidity, can be applied to both new offerings and trading of existing securities.

Developed by ICOinvestor.tv, the Security Token Academy will offer an expert series of live online video, panel discussions, interviews and in-person events to explore the evolution of the security token industry. Through these measures, the Security Token Academy will help investors and issuers understand the tokenization of assets along with how regulated Security Token Offerings (STOs) can be used by issuers.

Are U.S. Regulators Laying the Foundation for ICOs to evolve to STOs (Security Token Offerings)?

The first event in the expert series will be a live-online panel discussion with experts from Los Angeles, New York, Washington, and San Francisco.

This expert panel will discuss how the evolution and growth of the Initial Coin Offering industry has been accompanied by growing regulatory pressure, and the possible transition from unregulated ICOs to regulated Security Token Offerings.

Participants will include:

  • Anil Advani, Managing Partner at Investus Law
  • Alan Cohn, Of Counsel at Steptoe & Johnson LLP
  • Adam Ettinger, Partner at Sheppard, Mullen, Richter & Hampton
  • Jor Law, Securities Attorney and Co-founder of VerifyInvestor.com
  • Anthony Pompliano, Managing Partner at Full Tilt Capital
  • Georgia Quinn, General Counsel for CoinList

Questions can be posed to panel members in advance of the show at: http://securitytokenacademy.com

"The security token industry will be born in 2018 and will provide a key foundation for a new financial Internet," noted Academy founder Aubrey Chernick. "Our mission when we created ICO Investor.tv was always to focus on the maturation of the crypto-based investment industry, including how pending regulations would change the landscape for issuers and investors. The evolution from ICOs to STOs will be part of that maturation process."
