Pittsburgh Entrepreneurs Forum and Cohen & Grigsby Showcase Pittsburgh's Global Robotics LeadershipPITTSBURGH, March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Land, Water, Air…Pittsburgh Robots are Everywhere!, an event hosted by Pittsburgh Entrepreneurs Forum and Cohen & Grigsby, P.C., will highlight the impressive progress being made by the region's talent as Pittsburgh continues its rise in the robotics world. The annual event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 at the TrueFit Auditorium in Downtown Pittsburgh. Now in its third year, the event is curated by David Kalson, chair of Cohen & Grigsby's Emerging Business + Technology Group. Mr. Kalson will also serve as moderator of the panel discussion. Panelists will include Jorgen Pedersen of RE2 Robotics, Inc., Dick Zhang of Identified Technologies Corporation, Paul Scerri of Platypus, LLC, Brendan Carroll of Skycision and Jim Rock of Seegrid Corporation. "Pittsburgh's ability to attract extraordinary talent and redeploy its existing manufacturing infrastructure has created an organic local renaissance that creates jobs and economic opportunity in the region," said Mr. Kalson. "While much attention is focused on driverless automation, our panel represents a cross-section of growth and innovation in other areas that are indicative of Pittsburgh's future as a global robotics leader." Pittsburgh's robotics industry has seen a 300 percent growth in employment with more than 1,500 jobs added since 2011, according to a Pittsburgh Robotics Network report. The event will shed light on the companies' robotics innovations, how they attract talented employees and early stage capital, and the challenges they face. The panel will conclude with a question-and-answer session with the panelists. More than 150 leaders, students and representatives from Pittsburgh's academic, research, business and investor communities are expected to attend the event. Attendees will experience interactive demonstrations from several Pittsburgh-area companies, including ChoiTek and Advanced Construction Robotics, which will be on-hand to showcase their products.
