Rasmussen College Redesigns Finance and Marketing Bachelor's Degrees to Prepare Students for Careers in Today's Digital Economy

MINNEAPOLIS, March 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced two newly relaunched Business degree programs: a Finance Bachelor's degree-completion program and a Marketing Bachelor's degree-completion program.1 Through curriculum developed to reflect the latest financial, digital marketing and sales management practices, these flexible, fully online degrees are designed to equip students with a strong business foundation and skills to meet the high demand for business professionals nationwide.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) states employment of business and financial operations occupations is projected to grow 10 percent from 2016 to 2026, adding around 773,800 new jobs nationwide. Both programs are aligned to career outcomes such as Personal Finance Advisor, Financial Analyst, Marketing Manager and Marketing Research Analyst, all with above-average growth projections, according to the BLS.

"Today's business environments are constantly changing, and companies are seeking individuals who are equipped to meet evolving industry needs. It is imperative that our students are prepared to analyze financial situations, build digital marketing strategies and create value across organizations," said Jennifer Moorhead, Rasmussen College School of Business department dean. "By redesigning these degree programs in our School of Business, we are able to align with industry demands and trends, and ultimately prepare our students to drive growth and engagement and succeed across a wide range of business careers."

Finance Bachelor's Degree-Completion Program
The Finance Bachelor's degree-completion program at Rasmussen College prepares students with the financial, analytical and busines skills needed to solve real-world problems. Students will gain necessary insights and skills to synthesize and analyze data to provide actionable recommendations; develop budgets, forecasts and cash flow analysis to assess business health; and build fully scalable, production-ready financial models. Students transform into confident leaders with job-ready skills and can choose to participate in an optional internship or Capstone course to culminate their education. Program curriculum also prepares students academically for the Level I Exam of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential. Student enrollment is immediately available with courses beginning in April.

Marketing Bachelor's Degree-Completion Program
The refreshed Marketing Bachelor's degree-completion program offers students two new areas of specialization—Digital Marketing and Sales Management. Digital Marketing curriculum will help students develop in-depth skills in digital marketing strategies and tactics that encompass everything from social media, web and SEO to content marketing and paid advertising. Students specializing in Sales Management will gain tactical sales and sales management skills, learn negotiation strategies and acquire the skills to create tailored solutions for customer value both individually and within a cross-functional team. In addition, the new curriculum aligns with the American Marketing Association's (AMA) Professional Certified Marketing (PCM) certification. Enrollment in this program is immediately available with courses beginning in April.

Students interested in enrolling in the Finance or Marketing Bachelor's degree-completion programs with previous college credits that meet program entry requirements will be able to complete the program in as few as 18 months.2 Additionally, these programs are offered with Flex Choice®–a more flexible and affordable learning option that allows students to take advantage of competency-based education (CBE) courses, which focus on efficiency and relevancy by combining self-paced courses, project-based assessments and real-world scenarios.
