Pepperdine Graziadio Business School will host its 4th Annual Future of Healthcare Symposium on March 22, 2018 at The Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey. The symposium will feature influential leaders in the healthcare industry including keynote speakers, Vivek Murthy, the 19th Surgeon General of the United States and Peter Chiarelli, former CEO of One Mind and retired U.S. Army General.

The Future of Healthcare Symposium, Healthcare Leaders Directing Change, will explore the key drivers innovating, altering and transforming the healthcare industry. The symposium brings together healthcare experts and professionals to share their personal insights, experiences and ideas to inspire larger conversations about the future of healthcare as a business.

Who: Pepperdine Graziadio Business School will host a the daylong symposium featuring will feature an impressive lineup of speakers including Dr. Vivek Murthy, the former 19th Surgeon General of the United States, who will discuss the need to focus on both clinical and community prevention and the impact that community building has health outcomes. The other keynote speaker General Chiarelli, former CEO, ONE Mind and United States Army General (Ret.) will share his insights related to veterans and neurological issues with a specific focus on concussions, traumatic brain injury, and euro-traumatic disease.

Vivek Murthy, MD


19th Surgeon General of the United States

Dr. Vivek Murthy served as the 19th Surgeon General of the United States (from December 2014 to April 2017). As the Nation's Doctor, he brought both passion and innovation to the challenges of leading America's national healthcare initiatives. Throughout his career, Dr. Murthy has led the way in medical education, social action, and healthcare dialogue.

General Peter Chiarelli

Former CEO, ONE Mind, United States Army General (Ret.)

General Peter Chiarelli, USA (Ret.) was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of ONE MIND in 2012. He is a retired General with almost 40 years of experience. As the 32nd Vice Chief of Staff in the Army, Gen. Chiarelli was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Army and its 1.1 million active and reserve soldiers.

Adrienne White, MBA

Collaborative Care Product Pioneer, Primary Care Advocate, Vice President of Care Coordination Solutions, NextGen (News - Alert) Healthcare

Adrienne White is focused on setting and driving the strategy for Care Coordination Solutions and supporting NextGen's overall population health management goals. Josh Luke is a leading healthcare futurist, former hospital CEO, Amazon best-selling author and Adjunct Faculty for the University of Southern California's Sol Price School of Public Policy. He serves as CSO/Senior Health Policy Analyst for Nelson Hardiman Law and served as CEO of three acute hospitals, an acute rehab hospital, and an administrator for nursing homes.

Stephanus Philip, MD

Medical Director of Advisory Services for Dignity Health St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo

Stephanus (Steve) Philip went to medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and did a combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program at Indiana University (News - Alert). He worked as an academic hospitalist at both Indiana University School of Medicine and Ventura County Medical Center. Later, he built a hospitalist program at Santa Paula Hospital with Apogee Physicians, and then moved to St. John's Regional Medical Center as the assistant program director with Sound Physicians.
