Peraton Appoints David Myers as President of its Communications Sector


Peraton has announced the appointment of David Myers as president of its Communications sector, effective February 20, 2018.

In this role, Myers will lead the sector's strategy development and execution, and its focus on continued program performance and profitable growth. The Communications sector provides mission-critical, advanced communications services to Peraton's intelligence, defense, civil and commercial customers. Additionally, the sector will be responsible for leading the company's continued growth in the government satellite and terrestrial communications markets.

Peraton President and CEO Stu Shea said of Myers' appointment, "The depth and breadth of David's experience will bring a fresh perspective and strategic approach to Peraton as we continue to assert our leadership position in advanced satellite and terrestrial communications around the world." Shea continued, "He brings an entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of organizational performance, profitable growth, and agile innovation across a broad set of commercial, defense, intelligence, and international markets-important to the future strategy of the company."

With more than two decades ofresults-driven experience, Myers is a recognized leader within the telecommunications and information technology sectors.



Most recently, he served as president and CEO of DataPath (News - Alert), Inc., a private equity-owned spin-out from Rockwell Collins focused on engineering, manufacturing and deployment of tactical communications systems and field services for the aerospace, broadcast, government and infrastructure markets.

Prior to his role at DataPath, Myers served in a variety of senior leadership positions in general management, marketing, product management and business development across the satellite and telecommunications space, including executive roles at ITC Global, Harris CapRock Communications (News - Alert), and Gilat Satellite Networks' U.S. subsidiary, Spacenet, Inc.


He earned an MBA from Rice University, a master's degree in computer information systems from Madison University, and dual bachelor's degrees in business and international relations from Southern Methodist University. A published author, Myers has written extensively and frequently speaks on the topics of satellite communications, network continuity and applications for emerging communications technology. He was named "Visionary Executive of the Year" by Satellite Markets & Research in 2015 and currently serves as president of the Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) industry association.
