Canon Virginia, Inc. to Showcase Company's Custom Manufacturing Capabilities at PLASTEC West


NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Feb. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Demonstrating its innovative approach to custom manufacturing solutions, Canon Virginia, Inc. (CVI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., will attend the PLASTEC West expo, a conference focused on plastics technologies and advanced design solutions. CVI focuses on providing custom manufacturing solutions, including precision mold making for the medical device industry.

Since announcing its entry into the medical contract manufacturing arena at the 2017 PLASTEC West expo, CVI has added molding capabilities under its medical quality management system. Molding presses include: two 75-ton Sumitomo, one-50 ton Sumitomo and one-33 ton Milacron Roboshot, as well as a mobile clean room and mobile injection unit for two shot molding.

Also announced in 2017, CVI's collaboration with CVR Global Inc., on behalf of CVR Medical Corp. (CVM.V) ("CVR Medical").  CV provides the manufacturing services needed to support the market entry of  CVR Medical's Carotid Stenotic Scan (CSS), which is being designed to access arterial health. CVR Medical will join CVI  in its designated PLASTEC West booth this year highlighting CVI's ability to meet CVR medical's manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)  needs.

Within the booth, products from Virtual Imaging, a Canon U.S.A. company, will be on display – showcasing CVI's offering of medical service and support capabilities for radiography equipment and its ISO 13485 certified medical device contract manufacturing services within the United States market.
