Setting the tone of the event, Dr Kasturi Das, Faculty-in-Charge, Sustainability & Social Responsibility at IMTG took the audience through the journey of the experiential learning SSR course from its inception in October 2016 to the current edition which features 91 live social projects being executed across the Delhi-NCR. As part of the SSR Course, which is mandatory for the First Year students of IMTG's flagship Two-Year, Full-Time PGDM Programme, student groups are working on the ground with communities in partnership with 13 NGOs and local government agencies in Ghaziabad. Dr Das went on to share with the audience the recognition and accolades received by the 'I'M The Change' Initiative, most recent among which was IMT Ghaziabad being selected by the United Nations' Principles of Responsible Management (PRME) as a PRME-Champion alongside 37 other leading B-schools from across the globe. The distinction, which was announced at he recently concluded World Economic Forum in Davos, bears testimony to the institute's commitment to its core philosophy of social responsibility.

In his address, Dr Harish Hande expounded his views on 'What does inclusive India mean?' Underscoring how the affluent, educated populace represented less than half of India, Dr Hande noted how empathy plays a vital role in solving social issues and how all it takes to make a difference is the desire to solve the problems plaguing the society. He went on to explain the contrast between financial and intellectual poverty which causes the stratification of society. Giving the packed auditorium a strong call to action, Dr Hande said, "We're all running towards a pipe dream in our country, and nobody looks at what we can personally achieve. We have to become the country of solutions rather than the country that complains."

While delivering the vote of thanks, Prof. Atish Chattopadhyay, Director, IMT Ghaziabad, commented on how IMTG's mission of grooming leadership through 'Innovation', 'Execution' and 'Social Responsibility' has found its expression in the form pedagogical and curricular innovations, such as the SSR course.

The "I'M the Change" initiative has time and again brought laurels to IMT Ghaziabad, helping the institute bag the Gold Award at the 'IMC Award for Excellence in Management Education 2017' held at IIM Lucknow as well as earning accolades at the United Nations' 2017 Global Forum for Responsible Management Education, which was held in conjunction with the UN Political Forum on Sustainable Development, in New York City, USA. These past achievements along with this year's projects were chronicled through an art installation, coupled with an exhibition of select products and prototypes created by the various project groups in partnership with communities. The event was hosted by the Community Outreach & Social Projects (COSP) Committee, the nodal committee wherein students are actively involved in coordination of the I'M The Change Initiative under the guidance of the Faculty-in-Charge.
