Leading Supply Chains Powered by SAP Ariba

Commerce is a connected activity. And the solutions used to drive it need to be too. Leading companies around the world recognize this. And during the fourth quarter ended December 31, they embraced solutions from SAP Ariba and SAP to fuel a unified process for managing all their spend and trading relationships from end-to-end on a single, integrated platform.

A Connected Approach

As mentioned in connection with SAP's (News - Alert) recent earnings:

In the US, The Coca-Cola Company purchased SAP Ariba as a part of their larger transition to SAP S/4HANA to achieve greater control of their procurement spend and move toward their goals of simplification, standardization, and automation.

FMC Corporation purchased SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA to modernize their business processes and ensure FMC is positioned for streamlined integration of future growth.

In the UK, Standard Chartered selected SAP Ariba in conjunction with SAP S/4 on HEC to standardize finance, treasury and supply chain processes across their global business model in more than 50 countries and accelerate their close process by leveraging real-time consolidation capabilities.

In Italy, Salvatore Ferragamo will implement SAP Ariba alongside SAP solutions, including SAP S/4 HANA, to support retail, wholesales, production and supply collaboration processes and meet the demand of faster innovation and creativity in production and excellence in distribution.

In Switzerland, UBS selected SAP Ariba & SAP Fieldglass to provide an integrated solution for strategic procurement and services procurement that will integrate seamlessly with and extend the value of its SAP systems.

In the UAE, The Emirates Group chose SAP to support their complete digital transformation and provide an integrated multi-cloud ERP solution for Finance, HR and Procurement in the cloud based on the SAP Cloud Platform with SAP Ariba and SAP S/4 HANA.

In Greater China, Zhou Hei Ya, needs a platform that can integrate their end-to-end supply chain and retail operations. Their aim is to transform from a traditional manufacturer and retailer into a smart factory, a new retailer and a food processing company with omni-channel franchiser management. And they will use solutions from SAP and SAP Ariba to do it.

KENGEE will implement SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA to centralize their group procurement and become a real-time efficient operation to support fast regional expansion.

And China Minsheng Bank(CMBC) will use SAP Ariba in conjunction with SAP HANA to improve customer service and satisfaction in supply chain finance.

With SAP and S/4 HANA as their digital core, companies can master massive amounts of data digitally in real time, enable instant insight and predictive analytics to guide critical decision making, eliminate risk and run live. With the integration of solutions from SAP Ariba, they can extend this simplicity, power and speed outside their four walls and collaborate with customers, partners and suppliers in new and innovative ways that transform their supply chain.

Connecting the World

Already the world's largest, most global business-to-business marketplace, the Ariba® Network continues to grow and connect more buyers and sellers around more commerce than any other business network on the planet. As of December 31, 2017, more than 3.3 million companies are connected to the network and use it to transact over $1.6 trillion in commerce on an annual basis. In the fourth quarter alone, over 132,000 new selling organizations - or more than one per minute - joined the network, where they had access to nearly 3,000 opportunities worth more than $16.5 billion posted through SAP Ariba Discovery.

A Fair and Open Marketplace

And SAP Ariba continues to make it simple for these sellers to connect with buyers and do business through offerings like SAP Ariba Light Account, which enables companies to digitize all their suppliers and bring them onto the Ariba Network where they can collaborate around unlimited purchase orders, invoices and more free of charge. As of the end of the fourth quarter, more than 250,000 purchase orders and invoices worth over $55 billion in spend have been managed using the service.

"Procurement today is a totally different game," said Barry Padgett, President, SAP Ariba. "And SAP Ariba is committed to helping companies win it by providing an intelligent platform they can use to manage their costs and risk in a simple, coordinated way that beyond savings and process efficiencies, delivers broad business value."
