Curable Reports Significant 2017 User and Revenue Growth for Its Chronic Pain Therapy App

Curable, a Denver- and Chicago-based healthcare technology company on a mission to provide widespread access to safe and effective chronic pain therapy, today announced noteworthy growth in its user base and revenue in both Q3 and Q4 of 2017. Over 7,500 chronic pain sufferers are now using Curable to access pain science education and evidence-based techniques for chronic pain relief.

Q3 GROWTH

  • Number of total users grew by 229 percent over Q2
  • Number of paid subscriptions grew by 225 percent over Q2
  • Q3 revenue grew by 373 percent over Q2

Q4 GROWTH

  • Number of total users grew by 308 percent over Q3
  • Number of paid subscriptions grew by 454 percent over Q3
  • Q4 revenue grew by 558 percent over Q3

"Curable's 2017 growth indicates that we are carrying out our mission to help people with chronic pain," said John Gribbin, co-founder and CEO of Curable. "We know that patients are hurting, providers have few good options to offer, insurers and employers are covering huge costs for ineffective treatments, and lawmakers are struggling for answers to the opioid epidemic. There is strong demand for a non-drug, non-surgical solution to this major healthcare issue."

Throughout this growth, Curable continues to produce consistent outcomes data for its therapy app. 70 percent of chronic pain sufferers who use the Curable app report that their pain has improved after only 30 days, and 30 percent report that their pain is much better or completely gone after 30 days. In addition, 80 percent of users report an improved quality of life and an increase in physical activity.

While the Curable app has been available on mobile web browsers since its launch, the company recently released its program in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Curable believes that this effort will enhance access for chronic pain sufferers, and make it easier for its expanding network of providers to prescribe Curable.

SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD

As Curable grows, the company remains focused on improving its core product. To ensure the app maintains high clinical applicability and utilizes the most of-the-moment research on chronic pain, Curable has established a Scientific Advisory Board to consult on future product development.

The inaugural Curable Scientific Advisory Board includes the following members:

  • David Clarke (News - Alert), MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology Emeritus at Oregon Health & Science University.
  • Timothy Flynn, PT, PhD, Executive board member of Evidence in Motion, founder of Colorado in Motion, and immediate past President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
  • Alan Gordon, LCSW, Executive Director of the Pain Psychology Center in Los Angeles, and Assistant Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California.
  • David Hanscom, MD, Orthopedic surgeon specializing in complex spine problems at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
  • Megan Ranney, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Brown University, and Director of the Brown Emergency Digital Health Innovation program.
  • David Schechter, MD, Family and sports medicine physician specializing in chronic pain, former Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Southern California.
  • Howard Schubiner, MD, Pediatrics and internal medicine physician at Providence Hospital, and former Professor at Wayne State University.
  • John Stracks, MD, Internal medicine physician and Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago.
  • Tor Wager, PhD, Neuroscientist, and the director of the Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

"Chronic pain afflicts one in every six adults, but few healthcare professionals have had formal training in how to help," said Dr. Clarke. "Curable answers this need with evidence-based treatment in a straightforward, supportive, self-paced environment that can change outcomes even when other options have failed."
