U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy to Receive Inaugural Policy Award from the Preservation Resource Center for His Efforts to Save the Federal Historic Tax CreditThe federal historic tax credit has created millions of jobs, encouraged the rehabilitation of thousands of culturally and economically significant buildings across the United States, and stimulated more than $131 billion in private investment. In Louisiana, since 2002, the federal historic tax credit has fostered more than $2.5 billion in private investment and created more than 38,000 jobs. When the future of this program was threatened during the tax reform process, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana led the national effort to save this effective pro-growth program.
