ERI Teams with Broadway Green Alliance to Responsibly Recycle E-Waste at Successful NYC Event

ERI, the nation's leading recycler of electronic waste and the world's largest IT asset disposition (ITAD) and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company, once again teamed up with the Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) for a free e-waste collection event at Father Duffy Square in New York City last week.

The event was a big success with scores of locals turning up with their unwanted electronics to the semi-annual drive. Electronics accepted for responsible recycling included cell phones, copy machines, computer peripherals (mice, keyboards, wires, etc.), desktop computers, DVD players, fax machines, laptops, monitors, printers, storage media, and stereo equipment.

Collected iPods are being donated to the Broadway Alzheimer's iPod Project.

The event was designed to provide the theatre and local communities an opportunity to safely unload their outdated, unusable or unwanted consumer electronic items for proper and responsible recycling.

ERI will recycle the e-waste collected at the event, destroying all data (even when a device is not fully destroyed) and recycling or refurbishing all items in an environmentally responsible manner.

"The BGA ha been hosting semi-annual e-waste and textile drives in Times Square for years. They are a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, and a perfect example of how small actions can add up to make a big difference. We are thrilled to have partnered with ERI and provide this fun, free, and green event," said Susan Sampliner, Co-Chair of the BGA.

"We are extremely proud to have once again partnered with our friends at the BGA for this important event," said John Shegerian, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of ERI. "By working together, we are succeeding in getting the word out about the importance of responsibly recycling electronics while helping the great people of New York City and the theatre industry keep unwanted items out of landfills. We look forward to conducting similarly successful events for years to come!"
