QuickBridge, in Collaboration with OC United, Adopts Two Families for the Holiday Season

QuickBridge, a privately-held, leading financial services firm offering working capital to small businesses, recently partnered with non-profit OC United to adopt two families in the community for its third annual holiday season giving drive. QuickBridge's 80 employees devoted their time and pooled their resources to make the holidays special for two local Orange (News - Alert) County families-with gift wrapped clothes, toys, and gift cards.

QuickBridge reached out to non-profit OC United to identify families in need for the company's annual holiday drive. Two families were selected based on their immediate needs, with one family having just been transitioned to affordable housing after living in a motel. In all, the QuickBridge team had the opportunity to purchase items, including shirts, pants, shoes, diapers and gift cards, for three adults and five children ages six months through 11. A small group of QuickBridge volunteers delivered the gifts to the two families and spent time learning more about their stories.

OC United is local non-profit organization made up of a collection of citizens, non-profits and churches who believe they can accomplish more working together than part. OC United exists to empower the vulnerable who have experienced the breakdown of the family unit through restorative relationships and life-skills development. It serves those who have experienced foster care, domestic abuse, homelessness, and under-resourced neighborhoods and schools.

"We believe our community is full of faces and personalities who need love and support," said Amy Gaw, director of foster care operations at OC United. "We were pleased to partner with QuickBridge to bring Christmas to families who would have otherwise not had the means to enjoy and celebrate the holidays."

"We are all neighbors. We live in the same space and share the same resources. But some of us don't have the essentials or extra funds for the holidays," said QuickBridge President, Ben Gold. "As our company continues to grow, we feel it's very important for us to give back to our community. OC United has given us the opportunity to not only concentrate our charitable energies toward people with an immediate need, but to also meet those individuals, hear their stories, and see the impact of our efforts. It is heartwarming and inspiring to meet these families each holiday season. We are thankful that OC United does so much good work in our communities, and we feel fortunate to be even a small part of what they do to improve lives."
