FairPoint Communications Adds Virtual Customer Premises Equipment, Expanding Company's Network Function Virtualization


PORTLAND, Maine, Jan. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FairPoint Communications, a Consolidated Communications Company (NASDAQ:CNSL), today announced the launch of virtual Customer Premise Equipment (vCPE), a cloud-based routing solution that provides scalability, accelerated provisioning and built-in geographic diversity. vCPE eliminates the need for traditional dedicated routing hardware on-premises, moving routing for WAN, IP and VoIP services to a world class, cloud-based routing solution.
