IndiaOnline.in Joins Hands With Delhi Police and Ladli Foundation for Half Marathon to Raise Awareness on Women's Safety

NEW DELHI, December 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

The www.IndiaOnline.in Network has announced a tie-up with the 'Run for Laadli' Half Marathon - a joint initiative of Delhi Police and Ladli Foundation with an aim to raise awareness on critical issues like Women's Safety and Gender Inequality which have been plaguing the society for ages.

The Half Marathon 'Run for Laadli' will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday - December 17th at 7 AM. It will be inaugurated by the Home Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh and will be attended by several Cabinet Ministers, famous dignitaries including personalities from Bollywood.

The time-chipped Marathon will start at 8 AM, in three categories viz. 21 kms, 11 kms and 5 kms. Successful finishers in each category will be given prize money with a trophy and certificate, the highest prize money being Rs. 1 lakh in the 21 km category run.

Several corporate houses, NGOs and organisations have come forward to support this initiative. These include Ola Cabs, Accessible India, ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation, OGL Gopal Corp, NBCC, EIL et.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Raj Kumar Jalan, CEO & MD of the www.IndiaOnline.in Network says, "As an organisation, committed to the betterment of the society, we are proud to be associated with 'Run for Laadli' in their crusade against Gender Inequality. We invite corporate houses and companies from all over the country to join our fight."

Founder of Ladli Foundation Trust and National Award Winner & Social Activist Mr. Devendra Kumar, says, "Almost every day, local newspapers carry stories of rape or harassment. India with a population of over 12 to 18 million has seen in the recent times a wave of violence against women which has provoked a spate of outraged reports. Reports say that Delhi had seen 25 cases of rape, including several brutal gang rapes, and 42 'molestations' in few months. It has now become a big shame for all Delhiites to hold the tag of Rape Capital. We look to change this scenario with the creation of a Laadli Rakshak team across the country."
