Sevatec Honored with Corporate Philanthropy Award

Sevatec was recently honored with the 2017 Corporate Philanthropy Award from The Washington Business Journal. The award recognizes the region's most active and inspirational companies who made a difference in their communities through financial and volunteer philanthropic work.

For the second consecutive year, Sevatec earned recognition in two categories: Financial Giving and Volunteer Hours. Sevatec is the only mid-tier IT government contractor to be honored in either category.

"We are committed to engaging in our local communities where help is needed most, so that we are making a real difference in peoples' lives," said Founder and CEO Sonny Kakar. "'Seva' means 'Inspired to Serve' and embodies the mindset of our company and our dedicated employees."

Sevatec actively promotes its culture of service to employees, customers, and communities. In addition to over a decade of monthly caritable initiatives that support worthy causes, SevaTruck Foundation, a fully equipped food truck, was launched in 2015 to serve free, hot, and nutritious meals to children and veterans suffering from food insecurity.

"Sevatec is committed to being a leader in corporate stewardship," said Joshua Rubin, Chief Growth Officer. "With the energetic support of our dedicated employees, we are helping the Washington D.C. metropolitan area work towards eliminating food insecurity and delivering assistance to those communities in need."
