MedicareCompareUSA Continues Rapid Growth and Marketplace Leadership Through New Agreement with Providence Health

MedicareCompareUSA announced today that it has partnered with Providence Health in South Carolina to launch a toll-free helpline that will make it easier for local Medicare beneficiaries to find a health plan that best meets their personal needs and preferences. Providence Health is part of LifePoint Health, one of the nation's leading healthcare companies with 72 hospital campuses in 22 states and more than $6 billion in revenue.

The new agreement with Providence Health is the latest in a series of recent contract signings by MedicareCompareUSA, which has quickly emerged as the leading company in its space as the Medicare market increasingly dominates the healthcare landscape. In addition to Providence Health, over the past four months MedicareCompareUSA has also entered into new agreements with Baptist Memorial in Tennessee, CHI Texas Division, CHI Health in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa, Hillcrest HealthCare System in Oklahoma, Spartanburg Regional Health System in South Carolina, Tenet Health nationwide, and Washington Regional Medical Center in Arkansas.

The helpline created with Providence Health connects callers with licensed agents who are specially trained to help educate consumers on the features of all Medicare options, including Medicare Advantage, Supplements and Prescription plans. It can be accessed on the hospital's website or at http://yourprovidencehealth.com/for-patients-visitors/medicare-resources. In addition to providing information, these agents also help seniors enroll in whatever plan they chose, thus simplifying and streamlining what is often a very confusing and cumbersome process. All of these services are provided free to Medicare beneficiaries.

"Many seniors have existing relationships with doctors and hospitals that have been built over time, and we know from experience that continued access to their care team is extremely important once they go on Medicare," said Kerri Lenderman, director of consulting services with MedicareCompareUSA. "This new helpline will make it easier for Medicare beneficiaries to find a plan that is accepted by one of Providence Health's two acute care campuses and affiliated physicians, thus assuring continuity of care while preserving those bonds of trust."

Lenderman says that the new helpline will be particularly useful for those just turning 65 who become inundated with "confusing and conflicting marketing messages" from competing plans, leaving many seniors no neutral place to turn for help or guidance. "The new helpline is a one-stop information destination so seniors throughout the greater Columbia area can feel informed and confident when they are making this important decision," she says.

By enrolling through the new helpline, Providence Memorial will be able to communicate with members throughout the year regarding important news that may affect their access or health coverage. In addition, MedicareCompareUSA agents are able to provide health plan members an annual review of their Medicare coverage, including assisting members affected by Medicare plan network changes that frequently occur on an annual basis.
